Jeff Goldblum is said to be going back to fight the dinosaurs in the upcoming Jurassic World sequel.

The actor, 64, will reprise his role as know-it-all mathematician Dr. Ian Malcolm, alongside Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Goldblum first starred in Jurassic Park in 1993, before reprising his role again in the 1997 sequel, The Lost World: Jurassic Park.

He revealed last year that he wasn’t approached to star in 2015’s Jurassic World, but praised the cast and crew for producing a ‘spectacular’ film.

“If I never did any more, I’d be entirely nourished and happy and fulfilled from having done these,” he said.

“They’re doing spectacularly well without me.”

Jurassic World became one of the highest grossing films of all time after taking $1.67 billion (£1.3 billion) at the box office.

Set 22 years after Jurassic Park, the film returned to Isla Nublar where a genetically modified dinosaur, Indominus rex, broke free from its enclosure and ran wild in the theme park.

It followed Owen Grady (Pratt), a former Navy man turned raptor whisperer as he attempted to train velociraptors to trace the Indominus.

The as-yet-untitled sequel is being directed by Spanish film-maker JA Bayona, while Jurassic Park director Steven Spielberg is an executive producer.
