CORUS lost a contract to process up to 50,000 tonnes of stainless steel after a potential customer backed out, claiming that giving the work to the stricken Anglo-Dutch group was too risky. Finnish metals group Outokumpu had agreed in principle to give the work to Corus in 2001.
