Prince Charles book will call for climate action

Sri Carmichael12 April 2012

PRINCE Charles has signed a publishing deal to produce a provocative book on climate change.

Harmony will call for action on global warming and have echoes of An Inconvenient Truth by Al Gore, which was made into a film.

The prince will warn how man has become "dangerously disconnected" from nature, his publishers said.

He is writing the book with former Friends of the Earth director Tony Juniper, who has questioned the commitment of celebrities including Naomi Campbell and Sienna Miller to the green cause.

His book, due out next year, explores the problems caused by a "relentless pursuit" of economic growth.

Prince Charles said: "I believe true sustainability depends on us shifting our perception so we understand, again, that we have a sacred duty of stewardship of the natural order of things."
