Margot Robbie wants you to know she looks nothing like Love Island star Megan.

The Aussie actress, 28, is a huge fan of the hit reality TV show – but not so keen on the comparisons to the former stripper.

Talk of the pair being lookalikes was stoked after Dr Alex compared the two during a conversation with Wes, who said: “People are gonna be all over her [in the villa].”

Dr Alex replied: “Mate she's Margot Robbie. She’s Margot Robbie isn’t she. She’s one of the hottest girls on the planet.”

Breaking her silence, Robbie told Metro: “The other night we were watching and I think it was Alex who said that, and we all lost it!

“We were like, ‘oh my God they know who I am on Love Island!’ I personally don’t see the resemblance. We’d just finished drinking beer and eating crisps and saying ‘we’re so disgusting we could never be on Love Island we’re such fatties, they would never let us on’.”

She continued: “They all have some amazing bodies and they are so gorgeous and are always so done up and looking incredible, and then they said [I look like her] and we were like ‘oh my God!’.”

Asked who she wants to win, Robbie revealed that she’s rooting for “golden couple” Jack and Dani.

Megan came close to losing her place in the Spanish villa last night after she and Alex along with Ellie and Sam and Grace and Dr Alx received the fewest public votes.

In a shock dumping twist singletons Wes and Georgia were tasked with picking one islander to save. Georgia opted to couple up with Sam while Wes picked Megan, sending the others packing.

Love Island is on ITV2, tonight at 9pm
