Joe Sugg is the heart of a new reality dating show and we couldn’t think of a better candidate to host the programme.

The YouTube personality and former Strictly Come Dancing participant may have not won the glitterball trophy but he managed to win over his dance partner Dianne Buswell's heart.

After going public with their relationship in 2019, Sugg, now 32, and Buswell, 34, now share a home and they even got a puppy recently.

But what is Sugg’s new reality dating show and how can you apply?

What is Joe Sugg’s reality dating show?

“Why wait for six months to find out you’re not suited when you could find out now and save time?” is the question posed in a preview for the show. The programme is expected to build on the popularity of two previous BBC dating series, I Kissed A Boy, which was the first in the UK to focus on relationships between men, and I Kissed A Girl, which will air soon and will only feature relationships between women.

According to rumours, Sugg’s production firm, Final Straw, is producing the pilot episode, which is the only one that has been commissioned thus far. Filming for the pilot episode is scheduled for Friday April 19 at an undisclosed location in London.

A source told the Sun newspaper: "It’s an exciting new dating format all about honesty, which means the singletons will find out both the best bits and the bad bits of the other contestants they fancy.

"The singles won’t be able to keep their not-so-good personality traits under wraps for long, with Joe helping both sides of each couple find out the truth.

"Of course, there’s also going to be a twist or two to keep things interesting."
