Arsenal youngster Vontae Daley-Campbell has become the latest bright young English talent to be courted by continental giants.

Standard Sport understands that Bundesliga sides RB Leipzig and Schalke are among those tracking the 17-year-old right-back, as are Italian clubs Sassuolo and Atalanta.

His suitors believe Daley-Campbell has the potential to develop into a similar type of player to England and Manchester City right-back Kyle Walker, a defender who has the pace and strength to dominate a flank and cause problems in advanced areas.

Daley-Campbell is settled at Arsenal and has flourished in recent months, playing a crucial role in the Under-18s passage to the FA Youth Cup Final last season.

It is unlikely the youngster would press for a move away from his boyhood club but the interest from top sides abroad is evidence of the swift progress Daley-Campbell has made.

European clubs are increasingly finding Premier League academies a fruitful area to find promising youngsters. Leipzig, whose head of recruitment is former Southampton and Tottenham chief Paul Mitchell, have been particularly active in England after Everton youngster Ademola Lookman impressed on loan at the Bundesliga club last season.

Arsenal have been among those clubs who have seen their youth setup raided by continental rivals, with Marcus McGuane (Barcelona), Stephy Mavididi (Juventus) and Chris Willock (Benfica) all having moved abroad.

The Gunners were able to retain the jewel in their Hale End crown when in August Reiss Nelson signed an initial three-year contract, with the option for a further year, but even the highly-regarded winger has opted to spend the season on loan in Germany with Hoffenheim.
