Mo Farah splits with ‘right-hand man’ Barry Fudge after falling out

1/85

Mo Farah has reportedly split with Barry Fudge, the head of British Athletics’ endurance programme whom he described as his “right-hand man”.

Fudge had increasingly taken over Farah’s training schedule, the pair spending months away together to the extent they joked they saw more of each other than their families.

However, Farah is believed to have fallen out with the Scot, who has been a lynchpin of his success for the past four years.

When questions arose about Farah’s main coach Alberto Salazar, who is subject to a United States Anti-Doping investigation, British Athletics made the point that much of Farah’s day-to-day dealings were with Fudge.

The reported split raises questions about who will guide the 34-year-old Farah as he switches to marathon running.

It is thought the pair split up before the start of the World Championships.

With Salazar not here in London, Farah has been working with another British endurance coach, David Harmer.
