Triathlete Alistair Brownlee - together with sailing pair Hannah Mills and Saskia Clark and Jade Jones in the taekwondo - ensured more gold medal glory for Great Britain on day 13 of the Rio Games.

Team GB's golden haul climbed to 22 as both Brownlee and Jones retained their Olympic titles, with Alistair pipping brother Jonny to first and Jones claiming a 16-7 victory over Spain's Eva Calvo Gomez in her -57kg final.

Mills and Clark, who claimed silver at London 2012 and will part ways after Rio, were finally confirmed as Olympic champions after racing was delayed on Wednesday.

"I can't believe it's actually happened. Right now we've forgotten all about London...we're so proud to have come back and have worked so hard to get the upgrade to gold," said Mills.

"It's all we've ever dreamed of and we're just so proud."

Team GB's medal haul currently stands at 56 - just nine short of equalling the British record set at London 2012.
