Usmanov ups stake in Arsenal
13 April 2012
Arsenal's biggest shareholder Alisher, Usmanov, has increased his stake to 25 per cent.
The move means the Russian billionaire can now block some special measures proposed by the club's board which require 75 per cent shareholder approval.
The board - led by director Danny Fiszman - is opposed the club being taken over by Usmanov, but if his stake hits 30 per cent, he will be required to make a formal offer.
